Blackburn Rovers brushed Wolves aside with the minimum of fuss to record their first Premier League win of the new season.
Goals from El Hadji Diouf, Jason Roberts and David Dunn put the seal on an excellent afternoon's work for Sam Allardyce's side, who had scored just once in their previous three matches.
And the margin of their victory would have been greater but for Wayne Hennessey, who pulled off a string of saves to keep the score down.
Big Sam had challenged his players to be more ruthless in front of goal going into this game and they certainly responded to the Rovers chief's battle cry, with Dunn in particular leading the visitors a merry dance.
Wolves started brightly enough and might have taken a shock sixth-minute lead.
Paul Robinson flapped at a free-kick from the left and the ball dropped invitingly for Christophe Berra, but the big defender blazed his shot wastefully high and wide from six yards out.
Andy Keogh was then left similarly red-faced when he completely missed the ball, having cleverly created a clear shooting opportunity for himself inside the penalty area.
From that point onwards, Rovers began to dominate and they made the all-important breakthrough in the 19th minute.
A suicidal pass from Karl Henry put Michael Mancienne under pressure and the defender then lost out in a 50-50 challenge with Diouf, leaving the Rovers midfielder with a free run on goal.
The former Bolton and Liverpool star raced into the box before squeezing a low shot under Hennessey.
Rovers had several chances to add to their tally before the half-time interval.
Hennessey pulled off sharp saves to deny Morten Gamst Pedersen and Keith Andrews, before Pedersen then struck the post with one of his trademark free-kicks.
A second goal finally came in the 56th minute when Gael Givet powered a header goalwards from a Dunn corner and Roberts flicked the ball past an unsighted Hennessey.
By now Rovers were rampant and they added a third goal in the 64th minute.
Hennessey did well to deny Roberts in a one-on-one, but Dunn was on hand to tap in the loose ball.
Andrews twice went close to making it 4-0 late on, before Wolves grabbed a late consolation through Stefan Maierhofer, who fired home from six yards following a corner.
