Diouf and his team-mates showed their appreciation on Tuesday as they went over to the away supporters to celebrate after securing an important victory at West Brom. It was Rovers' first win since the sudden and much-criticised decision of the club's new owners to sack manager Sam Allardyce earlier this month.
The manner of Allardyce's departure angered the fans and raised concerns about the direction Blackburn might be taking under the control of Indian firm Venky's. One win will not appease them but Diouf hopes the performance and result at The Hawthorns showed how much the players care about the club and the fans.
The 23-year-old Senegal international, who scored the third goal in the 3-1 win, said: "We have been through a hard time, the team and everyone. It was good for us to win it for the supporters, who are behind us every day. Even if is hard we are doing our best to make them happy. The fans have been waiting for this win and we have been looking forward to it.
"We have been playing so good, even when we have been unlucky. We have kept believing and that is what happened here. We are a team and a team has to have supporters behind you. If you have that it will always make you strong.
"Hopefully they will always understand us and know we always want to do our best for the club. We always want to win. They are always there so when we see them we are always happy to win for them."
