Yorke was in his come back game after a short injury lay-off, and came on as a half-time sub against West Brom on Monday night.
But with five minutes to go, he was chasing the ball and his leg gave way, resulting in him limping off.
But he did redeem himself with a coolly taken penalty (which never should have been).
Captain Garry Flitcroft was another victim of the game after crashing out with a shoulder injury.
Both are expected to miss out on the trip to Sofia and probably the visit of Tottenham, too.
“Losing Dwight is a big blow for us. He has had a recurrence of his hamstring injury and Garry Flitcroft has damaged a joint in his shoulder,” explained Souness.
"I think both players will miss the next two games - certainly Dwight will, and that is undoubtedly a blow for us.''
