Yordi in? Cole out?
Yordi, on loan to Rovers until the end of the season, is said to be "hoping to secure a more permanent deal". He will learn shortly if he will face a shock starting spot.
Graeme Souness was coy about his team plans, but confirmed Yordi will figure at some stage, although he will be desperate to have record £8million signing Cole fit to lead his attack.
27-year-old Yordi will also be eager to make a good impression and Souness is confident he will strengthen the Rovers frontline after finally getting him at the second time of asking.
Souness made a move for the Real Zaragoza frontman before he signed Cole, but the Spanish side rejected it at the time and only allowed him to leave when they recently re-signed Savo Milosevic from Parma.
Souness refered to him as "an old-fashioned centre-forward" before going on to say: "Yordi is a striker who, before I bought Andy Cole, I saw when I went to look at a player called Catanha.
"Catanha plays for Celta Vigo and I went to watch him play and that day they were playing Zaragoza and Yordi played in the game.
"We made some inquiries and we were told he was not available. Since then they have taken Milosevic back there and I got a phone call last week to say we could have him on loan.
"We feel that we needed to strengthen in that area with a different type of player.
"He would be an English type centre-forward of a few years ago. He's mobile and he's bigger than the other two we've got up front, so he will give us something different.
"You will see him at some stage on Sunday."
