Whelan Has A Dig At Venkys

Wigan supremo Dave Whelan has had a go at Blackburn Rover’s new owners Venkys.

Anuradha Desai, the chairman of Venky’s, started to sort things out at the club by sacking manager Sam Allardyce and appointing Steve Kean as his replacement.

But via the Daily Star, Whelan has spoken out, he said: “It’s strange what’s happened there. I know the old owners of Blackburn.

“I have great affection for the club. It was really odd when they sacked Sam Allardyce. One thing he gets is success.”

And Whelan lashed out at agent Jerome Anderson – who it is claimed has been advising Venky’s.

He added: “Hopefully the club will settle down and stop taking notice of this agent they’ve got.”
