Warnock admits that he admires the Rovers manager's dignified way that he has handled the abuse he received before and after their relegation.
Before the game at Elland Road on Saturday Warnock told the Daily Star: “I like Steve but I couldn’t do his job.
“It’s difficult to be under the cosh like he has been.
“I need to be in a happy environment and I could not work otherwise.
‘‘If the fans here weren’t 120 per cent behind me then I’d be off like a shot.
“All managers face problems during their careers, that’s life, but if you listened to some of the phone-ins then you wouldn’t work anywhere.
‘‘There are always two or three people who can’t stand the manager – even if your team is top of the league.”
