Blackburn not only get snubbed but Lucci rubs it in that little bit further bay saying that Rovers aren’t a big enough club for him to sign for.
This is bad news for Steve Kean who is working hard behind the scenes to find a goal scorer before the start of the new season, something Rovers have not had for some time, unless you count the glimpses of class showed by Kalanic, but Kean doesn’t seem too keen on him.
It appears that Montenegro international, Vucinic, was one of Kean’s top targets, but could it be that he cannot attract the players, not the club?
No matter which, Lucci said to Sky Sports Italia: "We had an initial meeting with director Walter Sabatini three weeks ago and will get back together for talks when Vucinic returns from vacation.
"We have had no contact with Blackburn. They are a respectable club, but we aspire to something higher than Blackburn and can aim for a prestigious side.
"Vucinic is unhappy because of the environment he is in and is a result of the rapport between player and fans. For many months now he is no longer loved by the supporters. Now Mirko needs to relax and a solution will be found."
