Villa expecting tough game from Rovers

The Villans will be seeking their first away Premiership win since the 2-1 success coincidentally also against Charlton and in January as well. Graham Taylor's club have achieved only one win in the Premier League at the Lancashire club, he will certainly hope to change that statistic in his second term as manager.

Rovers’ manager Graeme Souness faces a choice in the left-back berth between new arrival Hakan Unsal or the reliable Stig Bjornebye. Turkish midfielder Tugay returns from suspension to compete for a central midfield slot with David Dunn and Garry Flitcroft, however Craig Short is still suspended.

Villa’s manager Graham Taylor plans to name the team that earned him his first win since taking charge against West Ham. Turkish international central defender Alpay remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury and could require keyhole surgery. German youngster Thomas Hitzlsperger will retain his place in what is expected to be an unchanged Aston Villa side.
