Just one win in the last eight games has Rovers glued to the bottom of the league and with fans calling for the manager’s head, pressure is mounting for Steve Kean, especially when fans are planning further demonstrations on Sunday to vent their frustration.
N'Zonzi has urged the experienced core of the squad to lead them through this difficult period.
"The beginning of the season has not been easy, of course it hasn't, but we have stayed strong mentally," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"The manager keeps talking to us to give us confidence and to keep us strong mentally.
"We have strong characters in this squad who won't let everything affect us and that is most important at this time.
"We have good players and mentally we have to be strong and show some character on the pitch.
"The older guys will help us stay strong."
