There's Only One Simon Garner

You remember Simon Garner, famous for fags, booze and jail? Oh, and a record-breaking, unbeaten 168-league-goal 14-year stint at the Rovers?

Well now his exploits have been compiled into a nicely finished blue and white book. It’s broken records for publishers the Parrs Wood Press, who had to reprint even before the release date, and even made top spot in Amazon’s pre-order charts.

Simon Garner himself has been signing copies, and even broke the signing-session record for WH Smiths in town when he scribbled his name on 370 books. I’m not exactly sure how those records work, but it means it was officially lots better than that time Alan Shearer stopped by.

But don’t worry if you weren’t there, he’ll be signing more copies on Saturday 7th December in Kaydee’s in Clitheroe between 10 and 11am, WH Smiths in Accrington between 11.30am and 12.30pm and Bookland back home in Blackburn between 1 and 2pm.

He’s also doing a session down in Wycombe where he won the Wanderers fans over by single-handedly promoting them up two divisions (sort of), and again, his book’s broken records down there, too. So for those of you who thought you were in the wrong half of the country, fear not. Head over to Wycombe’s ground Addam’s Park on Saturday December 14th between 10.30am and 11.30am, or Ottakar’s in High Wycombe between 12 and 1pm later that day, or take advantage of Thursday’s late shopping night and see him in the town centre club shop on Thursday December 19 between 6 and 7pm.
