Souness wants Duff to stay

The Republic of Ireland striker, who signed a new contract just last season, is a target for Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier but Souness will do his utmost to keep Rovers prize asset at the club.

"We are under no pressure to sell financially because of the Jack Walker legacy," said the Rovers boss.

"We have a fantastic training ground, we pay good wages and we've got a good stadium where our supporters appreciate good football.

"We've also got a good team spirit here," he added.
