"The last thing we wanted was to lose our first game of the season," The Rovers boss said after the 1-1 draw.
"The free kick was their only shot of 90 minutes, and they got a large chunk of luck with it. I doubted whether it was a free kick in the first place.
"They are a resolute team and they didn't make any attempt to get forward in numbers. At one point I thought it would be their day.
"But it turned out to be a pleasing afternoon for us after all, and we got the goal we thoroughly deserved."
