After David O'Leary's shock dismissal from the Managers position at Elland Road last Thursday, several names have been flying around about who will replace him. Graeme Souness has allegedly been high on the list of potential targets... (and more precisely *suspected* targets!)
Rovers chief executive John Williams has INSISTED that Souness is perfectly happy with his current stance and Rovers and does not wish to move to Leeds.
"Graeme is away on holiday at the moment," started Mr. Williams.
"But we speak every day on the telephone and the conversations revolve around our team and our plans for next season.
"On the subject of speculation in the media, Graeme has said to me that he is simply not interested and he wants to stay at Blackburn," he continued...
"He has another year to run on his contract and prior to the World Cup, we opened negotiations to lengthen that arrangement."
