In what was a dull encounter, a long-range effort from Vratislav Gresko took a wicked deflection off Steven Carr and creped in at Kasey Keller’s Far post.
This along with wasteful finishing from the Spurs frontline showed a change of fortune for Souness’ team, and the boss was happy with the day’s events, despite the game not being a thrill to watch.
“We stepped it up in the second half and had several good chances to take the lead, the goal was fortunate, but we’ve had no luck this year, and at last we enjoyed a bit of luck.” Said the Rovers manager.
Next up are two tricky away fixtures at Birmingham and Arsenal where Rovers fans will be hoping luck won’t be needed. With Lucas Neill and Andrew Cole returning from suspension a strong Rovers side will be available.
