Savage To End Career At Rovers

The 32-year-old midfielder, who still has 18 months left to run on his present deal, is set to sign a new 12 month extension to his contract at Ewood Park.

"I love this club and there was never any serious doubt in my mind about remaining here until what will be the end of my Premiership career," said Savage.

"After that I like the idea of giving my hometown club Wrexham a year.

"The manager, Mark Hughes, is ideal for me here and although I heard of a bit of interest from elsewhere this has always been the club for me."
