Savage Gets New Deal

Rovers boss Mark Hughes revealed after the 2-1 home win against Middlesbrough that the 32-year-old midfielder is to sign a contract extension that will keep him at Ewood Park until 2009.

"Robbie thoroughly deserved a contract extension," hughes said.

"He's been fantastic for us this season.

"He's playing the best football of his career, he enjoys it here and we're delighted he's decided to extend his stay."
