"I don't understand why he wasn't given a red card," said Allardyce.
"It was the wrong decision, but at the end of the day Mike Dean has deemed it was not a goalscoring opportunity.
"For me, I can't agree with that. It's very rare you don't see a red card for that offence, and so they got off the hook a bit.
"Of course, it's our responsibility for missing the penalty. We should have tucked that one away, so it's not all the referee's fault.
"But unfortunately sometimes the wrong decision goes against you, and I thought that was the wrong decision."
