But last night Venky's sources claimed representatives from theiroffice in Brazil had contacted the player's agent and brother Robertode Assis, and that a formal £6.2m offer had been made to AC Milan forRonaldinho.

His name, however, does not feature on a list of sixtargets given to the owners by new manager Steve Kean with former striker Roque Santa Cruz on his wishlist.
