Rovers expect the player to have clearance to play by the time they take on Aston Villa in Birmingham at the weekend and the 22 year old is already sorting himself out a goalscoring celebration.
Although the player is a midfielder, he feels that it is in his job description to weigh in with a few for Rovers, soming he did to help out at his old club Partizan Belgrade where he has hit 18 in two seasons.
Asked if he hoped to feature at Villa, Petrovic told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I want to but we will see.
“Everybody knows that Blackburn Rovers is a very big club with a very big history and I’m very happy to be here.
“Everybody knows that the Premier League is the best in the world and every little boy’s dream is to play in the Premier League.
“I want to play in Blackburn and win in every match if it’s possible.
“I play in the centre and last year scored 10 goals.
“In Blackburn I want to score five or six goals.”
