The former Manchester United defender - who is currently in his second spell at Rovers - had apparently wanted a two year contract... Reports claimed he was even considering finishing his football career to return home to Norway.

"I will most probably play one more season for Blackburn, but I have to speak with the club first," he said...

A one-year deal would give Berg the option of returning home next summer.
