Earlier this week, Rovers were linked with moves for Diego Tristan of Deportivo and John Carew of Besiktas. However, fresh speculation has mounted that Mark Hughes may make a move for Croatian forward Tomislav Sokota.
The 27-year old's contract with Portuguese giants Benfica runs out at the end of the season, and it is thought his club may be willing to cash in on him now rather than risk losing him to a free transfer. Sokota's agent said today: "Tomo has attracted a lot of attention from some big European clubs - we can expect a bid soon."
Rovers would have to act quickly for any kind of transfer though - the current transfer window closes on Monday at midnight.
