Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has said he expects a decision from midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen on his future in the coming days. The Norwegian international is mulling over a new deal at Ewood Park but could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Allardyce told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Next week he'll make a decision so we will wait and hope he chooses us.
"We've made the best offer we think we can make."
He added: "I'm sure he can better that offer elsewhere. But, he's had a great career here. He's well thought of and hopefully he'll decide to stay with us."
Pedersen, 28, joined Rovers from Norwegian club Tromso in 2004 and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the club.
Allardyce said: "The chairman John Williams has been in negotiations with his representatives and they've tried to thrash out a deal that both sides are going to be able to accept."
