Lancashire Police Investigate 'Racist' Rovers

Birmingham City complained to the FA following yesterday's 3-3 draw at Ewood Park, following claims that certain gestures and monkey chants were directed at Yorke from sections of the Blackburn crowd.

The Trindad and Tobago, and former Rovers, player was warming up in front of the Blackburn End when the alleged racist taunting took place. However, fans insist that the chanting was not racist in the slightest and the only chants about Yorke involved the lack of effort he put in during his time at the club. The monkey chants are also strongly denied - not surprising after the events in Madrid only four days ago.

Police have confirmed that ONE man had been ejected for racism, but the club have stressed that this is one incident and should not be used against the many other thousands that attended the game.
