Last time Rovers played at home Kean received the full force of abuse from the crowd for the way his team played, but a draw at Liverpool and a win at Old Trafford and the crowd were more than willing show their support for the team’s efforts.
But even though the atmosphere was more pleasant for Kean and the players, they still went down 2-1 to a Stoke side who had Peter Crouch in top form.
Kean said: "I thought the fans were excellent today and I'm delighted because it's a young team that we've got, and if they can get that feel-good factor and confidence to get on the ball (then results can improve)."
He added: "I think the fans certainly came to the ground positive, even at 2-0 they stayed with us, and it's such a big help. I can only applaud them for that."
