The 23 year old has attracted interest of clubs looking for bargains seeing as manager Steve Kean does not appear to have the striker in his plans since taking over from Sam Allardyce.
But Kean would be looking to get the full £6million that Allardyce splashed out for the Croatian back again to re-invest in the team.
The player feels two disappointing years at Ewood Park means he is now not worth the £6million Rovers paid for him and wants to club to drop their demands so he gets chance of joining another English club.
Or of course, Kean could get wise and play Kalinic instead of throwing good wages away on Benjani.
