Blackburn boss Steve Kean's bid to sign Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibsevic appears to have fallen through.

German club Hoffenheim have confirmed that a proposed deal to sign the Bosnian striker is off after the two clubs couldn't agree on the transfer.Kean had hoped the 26-year-old could be the answer to his side's striking problems - Rovers have lost each of thier opening three Premier League fixtures and have only scored twice in the process.

On Saturday they even contrived to miss two penalties at home to Everton.Problems with the deal first started to arise when Rovers realised Ibisevic would need a visa to play in England as Bosnia aren't in the EU, and more recently the player has struggled with a thigh injury.

Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner told German newspaper Bild: "We were talking to Blackburn Rovers and there was a chance Vedad Ibisevic could have moved to them."However Blackburn did not want to meet our demands in the end. The transfer is off."We understand Blackburn felt there was a certain risk involved as Vedad Ibisevic is actually out injured. That played a part."
