A Dean Ashton effort was the only goal of the game as Blackburn lost their third game in five.
"It wasn't a great day in the office, we are disappointed that we have lost the game," Hughes told Radio Rovers.
"We had opportunities to win, clear-cut opportunities that on another day would have been taken.
"But we are disappointed obviously with the goal that we have conceded, there are too many errors leading up to the goal, consecutive errors almost always lead to goals so we are disappointed with that."
Another set back saw Andre Oijer limp off in the latter stages of the game. What looks like it may be a serious hamstring injury is still yet to be confirmed by Rovers.
"I've not had an update as yet, but obviously there is a little bit of concern when you see your player pull up sharply like that," said Hughes.
"It looks like it was a hamstring or maybe a bit of cramp in the calf, we'll have to wait and see.
"But it is compensated by the return of Ryan (Nelsen) next weekend."
