Hughes : A Great Effort

"To go up against the champions, and worthy champions, and for us to be able to get the points that we needed was a great effort by everybody concerned," he said after the game at Ewood Park.

"Sometimes you don't get what you deserve in life, but I thought we thoroughly deserved the prize that was on offer tonight and I am delighted for everybody.

"It was a big test, but we came through it and we have achieved the goal that we set out at the start of the season."
