The Canadian youngster is Rovers' form player, scoring in three of the last four Barclays Premier League matches - including Saturday's 1-1 draw - and five in the last 11 games in all competitions.
He was forced off with the injury 20 minutes from the end but manager Steve Kean is hopeful the 21-year-old, who will play a key role in their relegation battle, will not be sidelined for long.
"Hopefully he will be fine for next week against Everton," Kean told Radio Rovers.
"He should be okay. We'll let him rest and he'll get a scan within 48 hours and hopefully it will clear up."
