Caretaker manager Mick Wadsworth successfully completed the deal after being given the bad news this week that back up keeper Andy Rafferty has been ruled out for the next three months with two broken fingers.
It left Pools with just 16-year-old youth-team keeper Liam Mooney as the only back-up to first-choice Scott Flinders.
But Wadsworth has acted quickly to ensure Pools have got cover for Flinders. Although the transfer window shut last week, Football League clubs are still allowed to bring in players on loan with the loan window opening yesterday morning.
Kean has not made it into the Blackburn first team yet, but Pools hope that he will be able to offer some experience to the first team.
