The left-back was in the third month of his loan spell at the Abbey, but has now signed on a free until 2004.
Boss John Taylor told the club's official website: "We're delighted to have him on board.
"He's only a young lad and he's had a couple of indifferent games but the last couple of games he's been spot on.
"He's got a good physique, he defends well, he goes forward quite well at times, he's got a good left foot and if we can just add little things to his game I think he's going to be a very good left-back."
Meanwhile Carlisle manager, Roddy Collins is hopeful of signing Ryan Hevicon.
Collins, who had hoped to include the Hevicon in his squad this weekend , said: "I'm aiming to have it all sorted out by early next week.
"He is keen to sign but I already have the maximum of two loan signings, so it is proving a bit complicated."
