With the unfortunately timed injuries to Kieron Dyer and Steven Gerarrd, England boss Eriksson has been left with a hole in midfield which he believes Dunny can fill.
The friendly is being used to try a new look team to qualify for the 2004 World Cup and U-21s skipper Dunn would be the perfect fit for the bill.
“Naturally we are all delighted for him,” beamed assistant-boss Tony Parkes. “He’s been working very hard and deserves this.”
