Irish ace Damien Duff, who pulled his hamstring in an international, is hoping to make his return against West Brom on Monday.
Duff said: "If all goes to plan, I'm hoping to be back in training on Friday and then I'll be looking to be involved in some capacity on Monday night.
"I won't have lost any general fitness over the last two weeks so if I can train over the weekend then I should have a chance.
I certainly want to be involved because it's been frustrating having to sit out the last few games."
Duff’s main priority will be to be fit in time for the trip to Bulgaria in a week’s time.
Andy Cole, who was subbed against Man City and Dwight Yorke, who lasted just ten minutes of the Sofia game, have also made quick recoveries and may also face West Brom at The Hawthorns.
Looks like West Brom could be in for a treat… We might even go three up before drawing.
