The 33-year-old Scotland international striker, who was released by Rovers last week having turned down the offer of a new deal at Ewood Park, has signed for his former club on a two year deal as a free agent.

"Blackburn offered me a great deal to stay - two years - and they were going into Europe," he told City's official website.
"But I just felt the chance of coming back here was too big a pull for me."
