Chimbonda on his way to Ewood

The right-back has fallen out of favour during his second stint at White Hart Lane and has dropped well down the pecking order at the club.

Chimbonda went to Sunderland for a brief spell before returning to White Hart Lane and now Big Sam has stepped in for the unsettled defender.

The player's agent, Willie McKay, is hopeful a deal can be concluded in the next few days.

"We are in the process of sorting things out," he told Sky Sports.

"Pascal is travelling up to Blackburn and will hopefully undergo a medical tomorrow if everything is agreed."

Rovers are now in the market for defensive reinforcements as Stephen Warnock looks to be heading for Aston Villa.
