Not that you would have known that if you had just witnessed Cardiff destroy Rovers 4-1 at Ewood Park on Friday.
Grumblings have started again after Berg has not managed to produce a perfect start, but the boss does insist they are not ruling out a promotion bid anytime in the near future.
Berg is not denying that there needs to be big improvements in all positions, but he feels this will be addressed over the next few weeks.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “The target is still promotion.
“Of course we have put our-selves in a little bit more difficulty than we would have liked.
“A few weeks ago I thought we were looking to build on the Huddersfield and Peterborough performances, and we were not able to do that.
“Yes we are disappointed with the result, yes we are disappointed with some of the performances, but we are not a million miles away in that we played the league leaders in a tight and even game, football wise that ended not an even game in terms of the result."
