The former Manchester United defender, who scored Rovers goal against his former club on Saturday, was intending to return home to Norway at the end of the season in order to spend more time with his family and with this in mind Souness has been on the look-out for a new defender to replace him.
"I don't know what is going to happen yet and if Blackburn don't offer me another contract I might still go back to Norway, but if another English club came in, I would look at it," said Berg.
"I always said the only reason I was going back was because of my children, but my circumstances have changed slightly because of planning delays with the house I am having built, so I might as well stay in England for another year."
