The Italian centre-back, who has only just returned to Graeme Souness' first team squad following knee surgery, could be forced to sit out the remainder of the season is the injury is as bad as first feared.
“It’s very disappointing all-round, not least for Lorenzo who has made a superb contribution since returning to the side," assistant manager Tony Parkes told the clubs official website.
